North America’s largest resort casino is the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination.
When the top architects, builders, designers, integrators and contractors in the Northeast attend TecHomeX East, they will be traveling to Southeastern Connecticut and the largest resort casino on the continent. Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. features six casinos, five ballrooms, four hotels, two theaters, an award-winning golf club, a bowling alley, outlet shopping, 35 restaurants, eight nightclubs, spas and world-class entertainment and attractions.
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation opened Foxwoods as a bingo hall in 1986 on its Indian reservation and expanded to include table games in 1992, then added slot machines in 1993. Since then, it has continued to grow into a 9 million-square-foot resort complex with something for everyone.
Gaming is at the heart of Foxwoods’ appeal. Within its six casinos are more than 5,500 slot machines and more than 300 tables with 22 different kind of games. It also includes a bingo hall, race book and the largest poker room on the East Coast.
For those looking to take a break from gambling, there are plenty of options. Lake of Isles is a 36-hole Rees Jones-designed golf club that is consistently ranked among the best in the region. Bowlers can head to High Rollers Luxury Lanes for food and recreation. Shoppers can spend their time browsing in the 85 stores at the Tanger Outlets and numerous boutiques featuring top brands like Bvlgari, Chopard, Pandora, Michael Simon, Jared Lang and Hugo Boss.
Foxwoods also attracts top-of-the line entertainment with concerts by headline acts and shows by comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, John Oliver and George Lopez. The resort recently has been adding other attractions like the High Flyer Zipline, Thrill Tower and On Track Karting.
There is no shortage of dining options throughout the property. For everything from fast food to fine dining, there are more than 40 restaurants from which to choose for any meal of the day. For post-dinner fun, patrons can visit several popular nightclubs and bars.
Attendees of TecHomeX East will be staying at the AAA Four Diamond Fox Tower. With 823 luxurious rooms, it is the largest hotel on the property. It also boasts the 5,500-square-foot Fox Tower Pool, which is a popular hot spot in-season. In total, the resort boasts nearly 2,300 rooms spread across its four hotels.
TecHomeX East largely will take place in Foxwoods’ ballrooms. The Celebrity Ballroom will be home to the event’s general sessions and boardrooms. The 47,533-square-foot Premier Ballroom will host the exhibits, where dozens of vendors will set up booths and hold one-on-one meetings. The Fox Tower also will be used for select boardrooms.
Foxwoods is located along Route 2 and just eight miles off both Interstates 95 and 395. For those traveling by plane, Providence, R.I.’s T.F. Green Airport is the closest major airport, about a 45-minute drive away. Driving time from Hartford, Conn.’s Bradley Airport is about one hour and 10 minutes, while Boston’s Logan Airport is about an hour and 45 minutes. Visitors also could take the train to the New London, Conn. Amtrak station, located about 20 minutes from the resort.
